Maritime Montering is proud to announce that it has been awarded a significant contract from Hvide Sande Shipyard in Denmark. This contract involves outfitting the accommodation for a newly built 4 MWh electric ferry, commissioned by Norway’s largest privately-owned ferry company, Torghatten.
Under the terms of the contract, we will deliver complete furnishings for both passenger and technical areas. This contract is a valuable addition to Maritime Montering’s portfolio of outfitted ferries. Over the years, Maritime Montering has successfully delivered interiors for more than 80 ferry vessels worldwide.
As part of our global strategy, Maritime Montering currently operates at Karstensen Shipyard and Vestværftet.
“Securing this new contract in Denmark within such a short time underscores the strong recognition of our growing presence in the Danish maritime market,” says Stian Madsen, CEO of Maritime Montering Norway. “We are excited to collaborate with Hvide Sande Shipyard and look forward to bringing our expertise to the Danish marine sector, ensuring this vessel truly stands out at sea.”
The 50-meter-long, all-electric ferry will have the capacity to transport 30 cars and 149 passengers, marking a significant advancement in environmentally friendly transport in the Nordic region. It will operate in the waters near Tromsø, north of the Arctic Circle.
Designed in Førde by The Norwegian Ship Design Company, the ferry will be constructed at Hvide Sande Shipyard in Hvide Sande, Denmark with a launch scheduled for spring 2026.
“We are very proud to collaborate on this project with a neighboring ship design company,” said Stian Madsen. “This milestone reaffirms the strengths of the maritime cluster we’ve developed in Sunnfjord, and it’s exciting to see its impact extending beyond Norway’s borders.”
In every ship accommodation project, Maritime Montering focuses on delivering long-term interior solutions with enduring quality. This business approach has established Group as a trusted interior partner for international shipyards.
“We look forward collaborating with Maritime Montering, and believe our partnership will benefit our client, Torghatten. Hvide Sande has a long history in delivery of passenger vessels, and we are eager to deliver highest quality of accommodation” says David Birkwald Thorstensen, Head of Sales, Hvide Sande Shipyard.
